Enhancing Smiles with Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a conservative method used to fix minor issues with teeth such as chips, discoloration, or misalignment. This procedure involves applying a tooth-colored filling to the affected tooth, which then "bonds" with the natural teeth. The filling is available in various shades to closely match the appearance of your own teeth.

In addition to cosmetic purposes, tooth bonding can also be used as an alternative to amalgam fillings. Many patients prefer bonded fillings because they are less noticeable compared to silver amalgam fillings. Depending on the location and severity of tooth decay, bonding fillings can be used on both front and back teeth.

Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic treatments and usually can be completed in one visit to our office. However, bonding can stain and is easier to break than other cosmetic treatments such as porcelain veneers. If it does break or chip, tell your doctor. The bonding generally can be easily patched or repaired in one visit.
